Thomorian symbol ideas

So, my concept for a viking-celtic giant type race is derived from Irish mythology. In Irish myth, there was a race of giant-like people known as the Fomorians. I've taken the name and substituted a "Th" on the front because of the viking influence I've given them (that is, "Th" for "Thor").

Thomorians, then, are from Thomoria, the region of the northern lands. They worship Thom, the longaxe-wielding god of [the sky? the mountain? rage? victory? really soft puppies?]. The following is a crude idea of what I'd like to put on the shields and bucklers of Thomoria.

The triangles look like mountains to me and the symbols, from what I've researched, mean "Thomoria" in viking runes.

Now, I also think that gods are even cooler when they have had some story about fighting a great nemesis or overcome a challenge and it's changed them forever. In the case of Thom, I chose the nemesis battle. I've yet to think of who this nemesis is, but even though Thom wins, the bad guy breaks Thom's shield. To reference this, I thought it would be cool to put a break on the shield image. Caulder suggested that we could even use this to represent the more accomplished among us (Axemen of the Broken Shield?).
