Blue clarifications
I don't think the next weapon making session shall be for a while, so I went ahead and bought my own supplies (you owe me enough foam for two swords minus the A and B pieces, Sam). I was trying to figure out the optimal way to use a roll of foam (to-scale diagrams ftw!) but I ran across a snag.
The octagon pieces. Are the listed measurements the length of each side or the length of a square before cutting out the corner pieces? I think I already know the answer, but I'd prefer to get this clarified BEFORE I start making cuts I can't take back.

Re: Blue clarifications
I don't "owe" anyone anything. If you or anyone else doesn't show up for weapon making sessions when they are scheduled, that isn't my fault nor do I care if they don't show up. I didn't take any of your money to buy any foam so I have no monetary obligation to you so don't tell me I "owe" you jack !@#$.If people leave foam here then it goes to a community box and anyone gets to use the foam.

Re: Blue clarifications
Hammy, your attempts at humor are hard to make out in person and nearly impossible online. I very strongly urge you to read a preview of things that you type in a post prior to pressing "Submit." If you're attempting humor, you should definitely make sure it's obvious.
Sam's response, stern as it was, was appropriate, because he doesn't actually owe anything, whereas you suggested that he did.
Just be careful. That's all.

Re: Blue clarifications
I approve the drama in this forum post!
Back on topic: What "Octagonal piece" are you refering to? I'm drawing a blank on where this would go.

Similar to the round pieces you had earlier today, Smitty.

Re: Blue clarifications
Oh! For the pommel?
Really neat trick if you guys want to try it out. Get a can opener that cuts away the top of a can (like green beans or peas etc.). The sharp edge left on the top of the can is perfect for cutting circles out of blue foam for pommels! If you want me to make you one just get me a can It saves Sooooo much time and effort.

Re: Blue clarifications
I just stick my wrapped pommel on the blue, trace a circle for the cap of the pommel, and cut with my handy dandy utility knife. Easy-peasy lemon-squeezy. And you don't run the risk of slicing up your fingers with can tops. :P
