Shogun can't spell, but he loves telling me that I can't read within the same post. 2) This is true. Ah well back to the drawing board. Couple things; 1. Is it Nemsis or Nemesis? 2. Seems to me it's only 1 of the founding 3 that wants to burn everything according to this tale and not the focus of the group/order.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gonchar)Wed, 16 Jan 2013 00:18:57 +0000 Re: The Birth of Nemsishttps://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1201,from=rss#post1201https://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1201,from=rss#post1201Interesting stuff. Thomoria will probably have more details forthcoming in the near future regarding our clan structure, religion, and customs for you to bounce against. Much of this information is forming up among our ranks, and we'll hopefully be able to get it in canon soon.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Cordane)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 13:47:01 +0000 Re: The Birth of Nemsishttps://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1200,from=rss#post1200https://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1200,from=rss#post1200Nemesis is starting with church officials. Those in Montis that have endorsed the slave trade and profited from war with Thomoria, Clergymen in Arinjhad that have accepted bribes swaying the divination of their annual celebration ect. The rest of the answers are subjective based on who in Nemesis you asked. Vivienne would probably tell you that most are redeemable and that we are a scalpel to removing the cancerous perverters of faith and order. This is part of a cycle. most of the governments and religions of Canaur have grown beyond their ability to do good for the people and must be destroyed so new social order can grow Arkas would say that no one is redeemable and that, yes the whole world must turn to ash. Shogun would tell you that he doesn't know. For now, Vivienne is correct, but there may come a time when Arkas' way is the only way and if Shogun's hypothesis is correct Nemesis won't be the instrument of Canaur's Judgement, they are simply harbingers. It may be possible that through the metaphorical fires of chaos Canaur might be spared the literal fire of God(s)        nondisclosed_email@example.com (Shogunate)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 11:25:17 +0000 Re: The Birth of Nemsishttps://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1199,from=rss#post1199https://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1199,from=rss#post1199Well, it's at least starkly different from what Thomoria offers. In the end, that's what I really want to see anyway: options! Keep developing it. By the way, questions -- Who are the corrupt officials you're gunning for? Do all of the kingdoms have such corrupt leaders? Exactly what is this "corruption" and what does Nemesis perceive as an evil that must be cleansed? Does every kingdom literally need to burn to ash? Is anyone redeemable? If so, is it only the members of the Nemesis "cult"? If no one is redeemable, then what makes the current members so "pure" for the task? Does the "cult" hope to pull this off alone, or will it contract allies? Are these allies safe from the flame?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Cordane)Tue, 15 Jan 2013 08:33:32 +0000 Re: The Birth of Nemsishttps://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1198,from=rss#post1198https://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1198,from=rss#post1198None of that requires the ability to read But just for you Plan for Nemesis 1) Kill corrupted church and Government officials 2) Inspire peasants to a bloody and fiery rebellion 3) Unlock secrets of dead civilization to prevent repetition of corruption you could kind of think of us as Canaur's League of Shadows from batman begins nondisclosed_email@example.com (Shogunate)Mon, 14 Jan 2013 20:24:51 +0000 Re: The Birth of Nemsishttps://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1197,from=rss#post1197https://bdagorhiroftallahassee.runboard.com/p1197,from=rss#post1197I was smart enough to avoid being literally kicked out of my homeland. In fact, I managed to be smart enough to unite it. Just trying to put my "uneducated" brain power to work figuring out how setting the world on fire will fix anything. While you think about that, come on up to the north lands and have a beer with us. There's no blood in it, as I know you like, but it's good stuff. Oh, and mind the squirrels. Just one can take your leg off. We'll save you a spot by the fire. At one time they bought slaves from waring Thomorian tribes and sold them through out Canaur. When Cordane united the Thomorian tribes he abolished the slave trade. The Order of the Crimson Cross was the shield of the church. Some tribes of Thomoria and Thundercraag that were not strong enough to ward off slavers paid the church for protection. Crimson Cross templar would ensure these villages were not touched. Shogun was one such Templar. When the Slave trade ended all the members of the Order of the Crimson Cross were recalled from the Thomorian villages and sent into Thundercraag to gather more slaves to continue the trade. Thus the Hemophite-Thomorian war began. During this war the Crimson Cross turned from protectors to slavers. They ravaged the country of Thundercraag enslaving any that would not convert. A priestess of Muim-eighre, the ice Goddess of Thundercraag, name Vivienne escaped with only her life, the clothes on her back and an ancient tablet. Determined to survive against all odds she crossed the Thomorian mountains into the disputed lands toward Arinjhad. Shogun, a Templar of the Crimson cross who had been exiled to Arinjhad, had mad his way into the disputed lands researching esoteric runes he believed linked Hemophitism to an ancient blood demon. Vivienne lie starving and, near death on the slopes of some nameless mountain when Shogun happened on her. Had it not been for his sympathy toward the people of Thundercraag he'd have left her to die. However, Shogun felt responsible for not being able to dissuade his brothers in the order and took pity on her. They spent 6 months in the mountains. Vivienne recuperated and learned the Jhadi tongue while Shogun poured over the mysteries of blood cults of centuries past. After Shogun was satisfied with all that he had learned and Vivienne was healthy enough to travel they descended toward the desert. On their way down they saw the strangest sight. A man in black robes and armor was running up the mountain, his sword drenched in blood. 12 men, 8 women, 2 children, and a sheep had been his latest haul. Arkas was a crazed mass murderer that had been terrorizing villages. What do a dejected Templar and a half-dead priestess do when confronted by a psychopath on the run from an angry mob? They protect him of course. Vivenne hid arkas amongst the cliffs while shogun fed the mob false information and sent them on a wild goose chase through the mountains. That night the three camped on the cliffs and discussed the meaning of Vivienne's tablet. All 3 agreed that they much bring an end to corruption on the continent. The churches and monarchies had gotten far out of control. Vivienne insisted this meant killed the corrupted and installing good men and women into power. Arkas insisted that there was no such thing as good men and women and that everyone must die, that through the fires they three lit the world could be born a new like a phoenix from the ashes. Shogun took the tablet and the runes he discovered literally. He believed that there lie a way to unleash a mighty phoenix from under the earth to purge the continent for them. In the end they decided that Vivienne's plan was the most sane and decided to peruse that. Vivienne promised that if they found any information that added to Shogun's theory they would endeavor to procure the information and research further. As for Arkas, he could either join them on their quest or face the mob again. TL;DR: Vivienne's a Priestess on the run from slavers that are part of the Order that Shogun was exiled from, Arkas is a blood thirsty killer on the run from the law. These three are gonna kill bitchesnondisclosed_email@example.com (Shogunate)Sat, 17 Nov 2012 10:32:03 +0000
