posticon Birth of a Nation.

Forces from Arhinjad and Thomoria failed to destroy Shogun's portal and prevent the conjuring. With in days the mountains were crawling with the demonic minions of Caerbanog, the demon Shogun bound to him at Dragon Hills during the creation of Nemesis. Duckie the Dwarf lead his Dwarven forces as far north as where the Thom-Jadi border met the sea. As for Nemesis; all of the members that and wreaked havoc upon enemy forces at the battle for the Conjuring quickly vanished.

After 3 months of campaigning Duckie established the Dwarven Hegemony in the mountains which will forevermore be known as Clusium. Fleeing corrupt governments, raiders and slave traders many would come from across Canaur to seek a new and prosperous future in the mountains.

Dwarves, hobbits and humans would make up the bulk of the exodus into Clusium. Though the Dwarves would come from all over the continent. Most of the humans came from Gygruk and Thundercraag. Their multitudes would be the foundation for 3 cities.

Runedar would become the capital of Clusium. The cities name was taken from the Dwarven word for "Home". Runegar was built in the ruins of the ancient imperial Dwarven mines, the forges were re-opened, the furnaces lit and the great engines of old reanimated. All of the military veterans and their families were given homes and work with in the mines to promote growth and stability.

In the north a Coastal city named Highgaard was built in the shadow of the mountain closest to the Thomorian border. Dense forests in this region allow for timber mills and ship-building. This city is made up mostly of Humans and has established a navy as well as a militia scouting force to patrol both border with Ahrinjad and Thomoria. Highgaard sends lumber, food and pelts to Runedaar in exchange for weapons, ore, and gold.

Rrinport sits at the source of the great river that flows from the Thaine-Clusium border through Thaine, Ahrinjad and Warstormary. This is the great trade port of Clusium. Resources gathered in the fledgling nation are brought here and shipped to the neighboring cities. Willingness on the part of the Hedgemon to trade and spread the wealth of the mines has ensured lasting peace for Clusium far better than any military. Laskiel Caphra has been given governorship of the city. A former member of the Jadi merchants guild and Caravan owner, Her participation in the funding the Dwarven uprising has granted her this prominent position. Her placement has made the existence of Clussium more palatable for Ahrinjad and allowed them to deal with her and the ministers of Rrinport rather than directly with the dwarven insurgents themselves.

Though not all are content to prosper from trade with the Dwarves. Thomoria looms above Clusium, an ever present danger. Because both nations are primarily mountainous there is little the Dwarves have to offer the half-giants in exchange for peace. The ancestral rivalry between these bloodlines has been rekindled.
The last city to be mentioned, is barely a city at all. Mt. Thundul is home to the Demons released during the conjuring. No travelers ever venture into the city, so few know anything about their lifestyle there. The mountain is located not far south of Highgaard, a large looming monolith on the Thomorian border. While all the portals at the battle of the Conjuring were closed by Shogun after the victory it is suspected another portal was opened in the heart of Mt. Thundul to make sure the half-giants never intruded on Dwarven soil.

Chief Exports of Clusium: Gold, Silver, Steel, weapons, timber, furs.

Chief Imports: Grain, spices, pack animals, luxury goods.
