Re: Inspiration from the Dagorhir world...

Hey all. I'm Skye of the Imperial Guard. I've been in dagorhir since 07, and though I don't fight as often as I used to, I still love the moments when I can step onto the field. My word of advice is don't get discouraged when things get tough, which they will. Everyone goes through a hard time in this game, but just keep your chin up. If one person doesn't like you, others will.
Without dagorhir, I wouldn't have met my new family and friends that I could never replace. I know you'll love it.

Re: Inspiration from the Dagorhir world...

Im eldgrim from The fury of The called in the magical land of eryndor.

i really only have 2 things to say.

1. dagorhir is what you make it. if you go out on the field to have fun, have fun. emoticon there might be some Jabron out there who will blow off your shots, or be a D-bag. or bend/twist the rules to their advantage, but its a big battle field go find someone who is fun to fight. Remember dag is a game, not a sport. this is a very important distinction. always remember if you die theres a rez point, its no big deal.

2. Most people in dag dont really Role Play a lot. The game is more about combat than anything really. However, Good Theatrical deaths and a little bit of RP now and then really go a long way twords giving dag a flavor and headspace all its own. so experiment and try a little RP. It makes the game a ton more fun for me, and it might for you too.

Re: Inspiration from the Dagorhir world...

Well, The name is Veleno Wildhammer. Dwarven Warrior that fights with Fury, of Eryndor. I am relatively new to the game. I joined the week of Ragnarok(the biggest event of the year) of 2010. When I joined i wasn't too sure what to expect. What helped me was keeping an open mind, be open to "suggestions". I put that in quotes because the suggestions may at times seem rude, but in most cases they will be very welcoming. That I can promise.
Just like everyone else is saying, go to the events; it is amazing. The different calibre and pace will be a shock, but in a good way. My first event locked in my dedication to the game. Last season I only missed one Chapter event since I started(i was saddend, but had prior engagement). I even made it out to a national event, Badon Hill.
The people I have met, There really is no better group of people. However, there are those you wont get along with. And fewer yet who's Reputation as being "a jerk" precedes them. but again the feild of battle is a big one. Fight both sides of it. Always try to fight better warriors. But don't ignore the guy/gal that is newer than you. you probably have advice to give as well. Be it something you knew or something that was pointed out to you the week before. If we all work together we can all become better.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can. Ides of March is fastly approching so hopefully many of you have already made the arrangments to be there. And Deakon, I look forward to meeting you as well, good sir.

Re: Inspiration from the Dagorhir world...

Greetings everyone, I'm Jareth Arivin of Eryndor. I've been at this off and on for nearly four years now but have not been able to make it to many events due to various situations. I remember when I started coming to Dagorhir in Bowling Green, OH Deakon was one of those who was there and in charge of things. During one of my first practices Deakon and I were paired up as "Fighting Twins" in a twelve person power battle where each person had special powers. Another practice, which has a bit of advice in it, saw me getting blind sided from about fifteen feet away in the head by Deakon with a javelin. The advice that comes from that is always have battlefield awareness. Best of luck to all those in FL under Deakon's leadership and hope to see you at this year's Badon Hill as I may be living near there soon.
